Sellout Swindon success leads to exciting launch of new shared ownership homes

Following the sellout success of the first phase of homes at Wichelstowe in Swindon, Sovereign Network Group (SNG) has announced exciting new plans for further properties in the local area. These will include the highly anticipated first collection of homes at King George Park, launching to the east of the town on Wanborough Road this winter, followed by the second release of phase two at Wichelstowe in early 2026.

Charlie Stevens, Land and New Business Director (West) at SNG, comments:

“Appetite for high-quality, affordable new homes in Swindon is enormous. The brand-new apartments and homes at King George Park and Wichelstowe, all built in line with SNG’s exacting Homes and Place Standard, will deliver carefully crafted, much-needed homes for local buyers.”

Available with Shared Ownership, the new properties will provide local buyers with a more affordable route to property ownership than buying on the open market – an approach that led to the original phase of homes at Wichelstowe being snapped up rapidly. With Shared Ownership, buyers have the flexibility to purchase a share of a home that’s affordable for their budget, with deposits starting from 5% of their purchased share value.

At King George Park, located in Lotmead on Wanborough Road – just four miles from Swindon town centre and train station – the new homes will range from two-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom houses, suiting a hugely diverse range of buyer needs. They will be complemented by an impressive array of on-site amenities, with the beauty of the Wiltshire countryside and Cotswolds on the doorstep.

The plans include play areas, allotments, two primary schools, a sports hub and a selection of commercial spaces. Beautiful green spaces will be integrated into the neighbourhoods, interlinked by a network of footpaths and cycleways. The wider area also has much to offer residents in terms of amenities, with a number of supermarkets, Greenbridge Retail Park and Great Western Hospital all under a 10 minute drive from home. For commuters and travelling further afield, the A420 and A419 are moments from home, connecting to Oxford, Cirencester and the M5.

The first homes at King George Park are due for completion this winter and will include a number of beautiful show homes, affording potential buyers a glimpse of the high-quality homes at the site, and helping them picture how life at the development could look. Applications for Shared Ownership homes at King George Park will open around the same time.

Set in 200 acres of open space with nature trails on the doorstep, the second phase of properties in Wichelstowe will host a mix of property types suitable to meet the needs of everyone, from solo buyers to couples and growing families, including one and two bedroom apartments, alongside two and three-bedroom homes.

Their location ensures the homes will appeal to commuters as well as those wanting the best from local life, with easy access to the M4 and direct train services to London Paddington in less than an hour. Closer to home, local amenities including a supermarket and Hall & Woodhouse, for relaxed pub lunches overlooking the canal, are within walking distance, while Swindon town centre is just a short drive away.

All new SNG homes in Swindon will be built to SNG’s new Homes and Place Standard, meaning they will exceed national space standards, deliver abundant natural light, incorporate increased storage and benefit from energy efficiency technology. A focus on higher EPC ratings is designed to lower bills and benefit resident wellbeing, while attentive neighbourhood planning helps communities to flourish.
