Local Space appoints Director of Assets and New Business

Local Space, a London-based housing association that provides high-quality homes to people experiencing homelessness, has appointed Kamran Tyler-Hussain as Director of Assets and New Business.

Kamran brings experience in housing, property, development and public service. He is also a chartered surveyor and formerly worked in senior roles at Westminster City Council and Homes England. His previous work in acquiring homes for temporary accommodation has given him first-hand insight into the pressures facing local authorities as they respond to growing housing demand.

In his role, he will oversee the management and maintenance of Local Space’s homes, including repairs and compliance, alongside new business activity.

Kamran said:

“Throughout my career, I’ve been motivated by work that provides support to people when help is really needed, which is why I wanted to join Local Space. A safe and stable home creates a sense of belonging and has a positive impact on all areas of a person’s life.

“I’m excited to have joined an organisation that is ambitious about doing more to help its customers. I’m looking forward to ensuring we have the right foundations in place for future growth and helping Local Space make an even greater impact for customers and local authority partners.”

Josie Parsons, Chief Executive of Local Space, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Kamran to Local Space. He brings a wealth of experience across housing, property and development, as well as a strong understanding of the challenges facing local authorities and housing providers.

“His experience, leadership and strategic insight will play an important role in supporting our long-term ambitions as we continue working with our partners to provide opportunities for more people to move into settled accommodation.”
Kamran Tyler-Hussain’s appointment supports Local Space’s growth ambitions and its ongoing work with local authority partners to provide secure homes for people experiencing homelessness.
