Platform Housing Group has completed the acquisition of land to the west of Kingshill Lane, Cirencester, paving the way for the delivery of 280 new homes, including much needed affordable housing for the local area.
The acquisition marks another important step in Platform’s ongoing commitment to increasing the supply of high quality affordable homes across the Midlands and surrounding regions, helping address growing housing demand and affordability pressures faced by local communities.
The proposed development will create a sustainable new neighbourhood in Cirencester and further strengthens Platform’s presence across the wider Cotswolds area.
Platform Housing Group was advised by Shakespeare Martineau, with Joanna Deffley and Natasha Satterthwaite acting on behalf of Platform. The landowner was advised by Burges Salmon, with Ailsa Fudge and Nicola Turley acting for the vendor. George Paton of Paton Land acted as agent for the landowner, while Robert Hitchins Limited promoted and secured planning permission for the scheme.
Matthew Carroll, Senior Land and Partnerships Manager at Platform Housing Group said: “Our acquisition of Kingshill Lane is another strong example of Platform’s ability to secure opportunities within a highly competitive residential land market.
“Our proposals for the site will deliver a significant number of high quality and sustainable affordable homes in Cirencester, helping meet local housing need and supporting the growth of thriving communities across the wider Cotswolds area.
“We are extremely grateful for the collaborative approach and commitment shown by all parties involved in the transaction and look forward to continuing those strong relationships as the scheme progresses into the next stages of planning and delivery.”
Platform Housing Group currently manages more than 50,000 homes and continues to invest in new affordable housing to help meet demand across the communities it serves.
