SIEGENIA’s simple retrofit solution for fresh air ventilation

With the provision of fresh, healthy indoor air of key importance right now, SIEGENIA’s AEROPAC positive air ventilation unit provides a quick and simple retrofit option.

Many sectors are rightly looking at how best they can keep their environments safe and healthy. However, the prospect of expensive and disruptive ducting work to install a centralised ventilation system can be, understandably, off-putting. As an alternative, SIEGENIA offer a number of single-room ventilation units that are extremely easy to install, providing an ideal retrofit option.

SIEGENIA’s most popular unit in the UK, installed thousands of times over, is the AEROPAC. All that is needed to install the unit is one core drill hole and a couple of screws in the wall. All-in-all installation can be done in around just 45 minutes.

So, what does the unit do, exactly? The AEROPAC is designed to bring fresh air into rooms. It is a wall-mounted positive air ventilation unit, capable of supplying air at volumes of up to 180m³/h. Operating at this level a typical room of 3 x 4 x 2.4 meters would achieve in excess of 6 ACH (air changes per hour). Moreover, when operating at a medium level of 60 m³/hr, the AEROPAC consumes just 5 Watts and runs at an astonishingly quiet 20 dB(A). The unit can be used singularly or in multi-device applications for larger rooms, as required, to meet the ACH target.

The standard version comes with an active carbon filter to remove volatile organic components (VOCs), odours, and other gaseous pollutants from the air. In addition, NOx and pollen filters can be specified. NOx can be problematic in areas of increased traffic, where levels found present indoors are often much higher than the recommended acceptable levels. The unit is therefore a great solution for people with respiratory or allergy issues.
