Wates Group, one of the UK’s leading family-owned development, building and property maintenance companies, has announced the permanent appointment of George Mosey as Managing Director (MD) for Construction London.
Since joining Wates in March 2025 as UK Operations Director, George has focused on driving forward safety, quality, sustainability and operational performance. With more than 17 years’ experience in a range of senior positions, he is now stepping into the permanent position of MD, after taking the role on an interim basis at the end of February.
Over the past few months, George has demonstrated a strong commitment and energy to the role, helping provide the team with clarity and stability, and building momentum with colleagues across the Construction team.
As Managing Director for Wates Construction London, George will lead the business’s strategy and operations. His primary focus is performance excellence and ensuring that translates into positive outcomes for customers. This builds on his work to date in Wates Construction, through the continuous improvement programme he introduced in 2025 and will continue to drive forward.

Wates Construction will now begin the process of recruiting a replacement UK Operations Director to ensure continuity in that area.
