Local Space appoints Director of IT and Transformation

Debbie Chun has been appointed Director of IT and Transformation at Local Space, a London housing association providing settled homes for people experiencing homelessness.

She will bring together people, processes and technology to improve the experience of customers and colleagues, while developing a roadmap to support Local Space’s future growth and ambitions.

Debbie brings almost 30 years of experience in the housing sector, spanning housing management, organisational design, technology and transformation. She has previously held senior IT and transformation roles at national and regional housing associations.

Debbie said: “I’m excited to have joined a purpose-led organisation with such ambition and openness to change. Good-quality housing is about much more than putting a roof over someone’s head; it can make a fundamental difference to people’s health, education, wellbeing and future opportunities.

“My focus is bringing people, processes and technology together in a way that works for customers and colleagues. Technology should make services easier to access while freeing up colleagues to focus on the more complex issues that will always need a human touch. I’m looking forward to helping Local Space build strong foundations for its future so it can continue to grow.”

Josie Parsons, Chief Executive of Local Space, said: “We are delighted to welcome Debbie to Local Space. Her extensive knowledge of housing services, combined with her experience of leading IT and organisational change, will be a real asset as we continue developing the way we work.

“Debbie understands that successful transformation starts with people and must ultimately deliver better services for customers. Her experience will help us use technology thoughtfully and put the right foundations in place to support our long-term ambitions.”

Debbie’s appointment will help support Local Space’s future growth and its work with local authority partners to provide secure homes for people experiencing homelessness.
